I suppose it all comes down to personal perspective.
Cause if the lead guy over at Apple says they are doing nothing wrong, “Honest!”
Surely that HAS to be legit.
[via Gizmodo]Yesterday the web was abuzz thanks to a New York Times story that claimed Apple’s Chinese
factories were dangerous and exploitative. That made Tim Cook sad, so he sent a very long emailto his employees to set the record straight.
You can read the email in full over at 9to5mac, but the gist is: “We’re not doing anything bad or wrong, honest!” What else did you expect? Anyway, there are a few key points you might find interesting:
“Every year we inspect more factories, raising the bar for our partners and going deeper into the supply chain. As we reported earlier this month, we’ve made a great deal of progress and improved conditions for hundreds of thousands of workers. Just, uh…
Don’t ask the Apple workers themselves.
That is if you can find any to ask, who are not locked in a bitter depression, contemplating suicide cause they are so miserable making you your next iPhone.

- ‘Living together in crowded dorms and exposure to dangerous chemicals’
- Two explosions in 2011 in China ‘due to aluminum dust’ killed four workers
- Almost 140 injured after using toxin in factory, reports New York Times

These are the lives some employees claim they live at Apple’s manufacturing centres in China, where the firm’s suppliers allegedly wrongly dispose of hazardous waste and produce improper records.
Almost 140 workers at a supplier in China were injured two years ago using a poisonous chemical to clean iPhone screens – and two explosions last year killed four people while injuring more than 75. [Read More]
But hey, you have the new iPhone…
Even if it’s to the detriment of the happiness and well-being of others!
